'TILL THE WORK IS DONE   back

Having worked with these scores and kids for many years I have found it helpful to introduce each piece in certain ways that help to understand the background of the music and its setting as well as inspire the imagination and enthusiasm of the kids. On this page are some suggestions that you may find helpful starting points. The pictures below can help to set the mood of this piece. - Keith Sharp

About 'TILL THE WORK IS DONE
‘TIL THE WORK IS DONE is written in a Negro Spiritual style with a touch of Joplin in the piano accompaniment. It is presented in a flexible format, offering many interesting and enjoyable performance possibilities.  The piece will accommodate students of various standards and parts can be mixed and matched to suit.
Music directors may take this opportunity to join junior and senior primary players, invite audience “sing-a-long” style participation, or mass large numbers of players and choir at camps, music evenings or workshops.
Useful points to remember:
· Playing range between 2nd year and 6th year of learning.
· Classic mix and match piece.
· Sounds great with melody and piano. Useful solo piece for 2nd years.
· Extension parts may be added to suit ensemble standard.
· Vocal line also provided. Consider having an audience sing-along with ensemble at end of concert.
· Piano part essential in texture.
Your suggestions are important and welcome!
