| Having worked with these scores and kids for many years I have found it helpful to introduce each piece in certain ways that help to understand the background of the music and its setting as well as inspire the imagination and enthusiasm of the kids. On this page are some suggestions that you may find helpful starting points. The pictures below can help to set the mood of this piece. - Keith Sharp | ||

| About CHICKEN IN THE KITCHEN | ||
Chicken prints in the pastry base, rolling pin and flapping wings colour the mood behind this release from 'Music House.' Aimed at younger players who are ready to enjoy plenty of D and A sting crossing. Easy rhythms and all in 1st position D major. Off beat vocal "clucks" and words to sing, provide great performance potential! The piece will also work with simply melody and piano. Perhaps add the harmony parts for the next performance? Lots and lots of fun! |

| An enraged cook? A bewildered chicken? Together in a messed up kitchen in the deep south. |
||
| Useful points to remember: | ||
| · Aimed at 2nd and 3rd year players. · Simple 3 part structure with cute piano part. · Works well with just melody and piano. · Excellent study for middle to UH of the bow elbow swings, and D to A string crossings. · Optional two part vocals come with score. |
