| Having worked with these scores and kids for many years I have found it helpful to introduce each piece in certain ways that help to understand the background of the music and its setting as well as inspire the imagination and enthusiasm of the kids. On this page are some suggestions that you may find helpful starting points. The pictures below can help to set the mood of this piece. - Keith Sharp | ||

| About CELTIC LULLABY |
Celtic Lullaby is a beautiful, lyrical melody written in 3/4 time and in D major with ballad-style piano accompaniment. It is very approachable for elementary players who will enjoy a chance to play the tune and participate in the other simple textures. The lullaby also works well as a quick-learn piece for junior high school. Use of vibrato and increased tonal maturity further enhance the setting. Audiences will gain enormous pleasure from this masterful creation. |
| Sleep O babe, for the
red bee hums the silent twilight's fall, Aoibheall from the grey rock comes, to wrap the world enthrall. I'll envy you, my child, my joy, my love and heart's desire, The crickets sing you lullaby, beside the dying fire. * Aoibheall was an Irish fairy. (From The Gartan Mother's Lullaby, a traditional Irish lullaby) |
